The McNeilly Family

Time has sped up considerably since Cam was born. Beth's MEd is in full swing, Edward is barely managing to work on his PhD between his teaching commitments, applications for jobs for next year and helping out with the babies. We enjoyed visits from Grandma and Grandpa from America, and from Craig and Amanda from Glasgow. Maria turned two on 26 Oct and Beth turned 27 on 13 Oct (thank you to everyone for their goodwishes.)Poor Maria had a slightly un-commemorated birthday from her parents' side. We were too busy to organise a party for her and decided to have a cake at home, with just the four of us and some balloons. Sadly, the cake did not turn out well as Beth had copied the recipe wrong, so all the wee girl got was the balloons. The saving grace is that she didn't know it was her birthday, so wasn't disappointed. On the contrary, she was thrilled with the balloons. But Beth felt rotten about it. Halloween went much better, thanks to a party we had with our little row of cottages. Maria, Cameron, Sebastian and Godfrey had a party with cakes and fun treats and then did a bit of trick-or-treating. Our neighbour Nick put on an amazing mask when he opened the door (it had flashing red bike lights on it) and Maria was petrified. After one, long, apprehensive look, she took off crying in the other direction. She recovered from her fright in time to collect her kitkat bar and say,'Merci.'
It scarcely seems possible that Halloween is already behind us. But it is, and I have a few photos to document the past month. (In no particular order, it has to be said. The Halloween pictures involve Cam wearing dalmatian pajamas).
